Waste Not Waste Not volunteers will continue to rescue food through year-end and we will be holding a special holiday food distribution to ensure that all the food we rescue will be put to good use. We don’t typically distribute to individuals and families, but we know that we will rescue lots of food the last week of the year and that many of our recipient groups that usually take food from us to share with the public will be closed. Our mission is to connect the dots between surplus food and hungry people, so we are going to do what it takes to get the food to people struggling to put food on the table while schools and many food pantries are closed.
If you need assistance, stop by on Dec. 27 between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm (or until all food is gone, first-come-first-served) at 500 Kingsley Ave (between Mound St. and Plainfield Ave).
